Pumpkin Patching

This weekend I went to the pumpkin patch with my good friend Joana and her kids. It was such a gorgeous day (have I mentioned that we had the most BEAUTIFUL September ever here?!) so we had to take advantage and do something outside! We went to one of our favorite local farms, Wards Berry Farm. They have a great pumpkin patch and you can literally pick your own pumpkin!

The goats at this farm are SO gentle and sweet! I just love them. Joana's son is actually doing 4-H with the goats this year and I must admit that I'm very jealous! Lol!

Hiking to the pumpkin patch instead of taking the hayride b/c I needed to get my steps in! #Fitbit

The pumpkin patch was so dry and dusty since we haven't had any rain this month. Fortunately/unfortunately (depending on how you look at it) we are going to get rain for the next 5 days straight to make up for it!

He was really convincing on why he needed a pumpkin this big but ended up with a few smaller ones instead! He could hardly pick this one up to carry it to the wagon anyway! Ha!

Not pictured:
-2 cider donuts I bought and ate (while still hot)
-fresh produce and homemade mac and cheese I bought and brought home for dinner
-belated birthday celebrating/gift giving with my friend's daughter

It was such a fabulous day that clearly took a lot out of me b/c I proceeded to come home and take a LONG nap! But that is what weekends are for so I say do it when you can!

I'm so glad I've already been apple picking and pumpkin patching b/c this weekend is going to rain ALL WEEKEND which will mean indoor activities only. . . next on the fall bucket list is the Cranberry Harvest Festival!

  1. That looks so fun! I just added a bunch of fall activities to our October calendar and a pumpkin patch is definitely on the list. I'm hungry for cider donuts now! A cranberry festival sounds awesome too.

  2. How fun!!! And I'm kind of glad you didn't have the pictures of the donuts because I'd be drooling now.

  3. Looks like the kids had lots of fun. I think that if he would have been able to carry that pumpkin to the wagon, he should have gotten it. Ha! :)
