Pumpkin Patching

This weekend I went to the pumpkin patch with my good friend Joana and her kids. It was such a gorgeous day (have I mentioned that we had the most BEAUTIFUL September ever here?!) so we had to take advantage and do something outside! We went to one of our favorite local farms, Wards Berry Farm. They have a great pumpkin patch and you can literally pick your own pumpkin!

The goats at this farm are SO gentle and sweet! I just love them. Joana's son is actually doing 4-H with the goats this year and I must admit that I'm very jealous! Lol!

Hiking to the pumpkin patch instead of taking the hayride b/c I needed to get my steps in! #Fitbit

The pumpkin patch was so dry and dusty since we haven't had any rain this month. Fortunately/unfortunately (depending on how you look at it) we are going to get rain for the next 5 days straight to make up for it!

He was really convincing on why he needed a pumpkin this big but ended up with a few smaller ones instead! He could hardly pick this one up to carry it to the wagon anyway! Ha!

Not pictured:
-2 cider donuts I bought and ate (while still hot)
-fresh produce and homemade mac and cheese I bought and brought home for dinner
-belated birthday celebrating/gift giving with my friend's daughter

It was such a fabulous day that clearly took a lot out of me b/c I proceeded to come home and take a LONG nap! But that is what weekends are for so I say do it when you can!

I'm so glad I've already been apple picking and pumpkin patching b/c this weekend is going to rain ALL WEEKEND which will mean indoor activities only. . . next on the fall bucket list is the Cranberry Harvest Festival!

Little Big Town Concert

It was a few weeks ago now but I still wanted to share about my fun night out at the Little Big Town concert! It was Labor Day weekend and it was unusually cool that night but a great way to wrap up the summer. It was also our last hurray with Kate who has (sadly) since moved to Texas!

The concert was at one of my favorite summer concert venues, Blue Hills Pavilion, which is in the Seaport right on the water. Oh and did I mention that Emily scored FREE tickets so we didn't even have to pay for this amazing show!

I dare you to tell me that these koozies "necklaces" are not the coolest koozies you have ever seen?!?!? I never buy koozies but I couldn't resist this one that says "This Is My Day Drinking Koozie!" Best ever right?

Thanks Emily for the hook up with the free show! I love Little Big Town and they did not disappoint at this concert. I'm so happy I got to have a fun night out with Kate before she moved away too!

7 Years. . .

Yesterday was my "MS Anniversary." 7 years ago I was diagnosed with MS and life hasn't been the same since. I honestly can't believe it has been 7 years already. In honor of my continued stable health I decided to celebrate life all weekend long. It started on Thursday night since my friend Emily was visiting from DC and it continued with fun (and naps) all weekend long. The weather was gorgeous which only made the weekend that much better.

Friday night the celebrating continued with a last minute decision to go to the Ed Sheeran concert. I'm so glad we did! It was an awesome show and he had his biggest US crowd to date (53,000). Oh and did I mention that Chris Martin made a surprise appearance and they sang two songs together! Amazing!

Saturday started with errands, a manicure and lunch at Chick-fil-a! I took a nap in the afternoon to gear up for my 3rd night in a row out! I'm not use to all these late nights. Saturday night I met up with Emily again and some of our other friends. We had a great dinner at Gather in the Seaport and then met up with more friends for drinks.

Saturday night when we got home from the concert the smoke detector in my bedroom was "chirping" really loud and despite changing the batteries we could not make it stop. So we called the non-emergency line for the fire department hoping they could come quietly but unfortunately that was not the case. . .

Turns out it was dead and needed to be replaced. They were not amused! Ha! I'm sure our entire neighborhood was not happy about the wake up call at midnight!

Today I met up with my friend Joana and her kids at the pumpkin patch! We had a lot of fun and it gave me a chance to finally give her daughter her birthday gift (her party was the day I moved so I had to miss it).

More pumpkin patch photos to follow. . .

Cheers to 7 years! Here's to a cure before I "celebrate" 7 more!

Goats Are My Favorite

As I mentioned yesterday, this weekend my mom and I took my nieces apple picking. The best part of this apple farm (besides the cider donuts) are the goats. They are so cute and friendly! The girls always have so much fun feeding them and I think if they were allowed they would bring one home as a pet!

The above photo cracks me up. The look on Ella's face is b/c she is lecturing the goats to be nice! Ha! Some of the bigger goats were bullies and were pushing the little goats aside in order to get the food.

I mean come on. . .could this be any cuter?! This goat is just the sweetest and clearly liked Peyton!

Pure happiness! Both Ella and the goats are loving life in this moment! Love her expression.

Ella finally learned how to do a flip on this day and she was SO excited! She literally would not stop doing them after she learned. It was hilarious. I love how determined she is and once she puts her mind to something she won't stop trying until she masters it!

We all love a good comparison photo! The top photo is the first time we took the girls apple picking (I seriously can't get over how little they were) and the bottom photo is on the same bench this year! Love these two and the memories/traditions we make!
