Five Friday Favorites

TGIF!  For those of you tired of my Italy posts you're in luck. . . today you get five quick things about my week.  For those of you looking forward to more Italy posts you're in luck too because I'll have more next week.  You all win! Ha!

Jodi Bean's BLog

I got a new blog design and blog button.  So if you are reading this from your phone you should head on over to my blog and check it out.  Erin from Love, Fun and Football designed it and she deserves a medal for all of my "tweaking" in the past couple of days. . . actually there is still some going on so you may not be seeing the most final version yet. . . it will be finally final in the next few days.  I also need to do a new About page which is always stressful but I hope to get that updated soon too.  So what do you think?  Are you liking my cleaner, less cluttered look?  I sure am!

P.S.  Erin is great to work with - very talented and much cheaper than most blog designers.  I highly recommend working with her on your next blog design!

The other night I went to dinner at Tavern In The Square and not only did I have a great dinner but they donated a $50 gift card for my Whiskey Tasting Fundraiser for MS this weekend!  Oh and the beer. . . the beer was SO good.  I had the Tavern Illusive Traveler that was brewed just for their restaurants.  It was a summery/citrus flavored beer which is my favorite.  Try it if you have a Tavern In The Square near you!

After eating the MOST delicious tart ever in Frankenmuth, MI I had to have more.  So instead of keeping it simple and going to a bakery and buying a little one to eat I had to go big. . . I made a fruit tart, ate one piece, and now it has sat in my fridge all week!  It was really good but between work and other commitments I've hardly been home this week to eat it.  Next time I'll head to the bakery or make it when I can bring it somewhere to share!

After asking many of you (my friends who run) for recommendations on the best socks out there I head out to City Sports and bought two pairs - WRIGHTSOCK and Feetures!  Both have a "No Blister" guarantee.  I'm really excited to try these out during my MS Challenge Walk training which by the way I need to really increase asap. . . hopefully I can fit in a training walk this weekend and get on a more consistent schedule starting next week.  I'll be posting a full review of these socks once I've had ample time to try them out!  If you've tried either and love/hate them let me know.

I got my wine order from Bright Cellars and I can't wait to try it.  Expect a full review once I've had a chance to try all 4 wines.  Give me a few days weeks though.  Haven't heard of Bright Cellars?  It is like Stitch Fix but think custom wine order instead of clothes.  Very cool concept and I can't wait to see how they did with their picks for me.

Have a great weekend everyone!  Come back next week for more Italy Vacation posts and a recap of my Whiskey Tasting Fundraiser For MS!
