Tieks Review: Love Them Or Hate Them?!

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I spent mine in Michigan (still there actually) with my family celebrating my grandfather's life.  He will be buried today at the National Cemetery and we will say our final goodbyes.  It has been a weekend filled with many sad moments but also many happy memories.  To keep things lighthearted today I though I would share my thoughts on Tieks since I bought some a few weeks ago. . . they have since been returned!

THIS IS NOT A SPONSORED POST.  I BOUGHT TIEKS WITH MY OWN MONEY BECAUSE I WANTED TO TRY THEM (in hope of bringing them to Italy since I had heard they were comfortable especially when doing a lot of walking).  Well I can't believe it but they were NOT comfortable (on me).

Let me back up a little bit and tell you about my experience.

I ordered two pairs because I wasn't sure which color I liked better.  They come in the cutest little (and I mean little) boxes with a colorful flower.  Love it!  There is also a little travel bag in the box that you can put your heels in while commuting.

I bought the Nude Patent ($195) and the Camel Classics ($175).  Surprisingly enough even though I ordered the same size for both pairs they fit different!  You can tell that the camel ones are a big looser (see toe cleavage) and the nude ones felt too snug on my feet.  So neither pair felt comfortable when I put them on.  I even left the nude on for a while to see if they would stretch or loosen a bit but no luck.  The camel pair slipped on one heel so those were a no go either (plus I didn't love the color).

{Please excuse the eczema on my legs - that is what I get for eating dairy!}

The nude pair was so tight and stiff that you could see my big toe.  In this photo I'm not doing anything to make my toe stick up.  That is how it looked through the shoe when I just had my foot in a regular relaxed position. . .

I really was (and still am) so bummed that these shoes weren't a good fit for me.  I had high hopes of them feeling like slippers whiled looking stylish.  I thought they would have been perfect for Italy.  Oh well.  Back to the drawing board (aka DSW, Target and Payless)!!!!  I'm thinking my bank account REALLY appreciates that these did not work.  Haha!

Have you tried Tieks?  What did you think?

  1. That is a bummer they didn't work out. I got these slip on sketchers sneakers that are so comfortable but not as cutesy looking.

  2. That is so sad. I cannot stand when that happens. My favorite flats are by Lanvin. While they are expensive, they are comfortable and they last. In fact, I wore them so much I had to get them resolved and they are as good as new. Also, I like the flats from bass and I really like toms.

    Have fun in Italy!!

    Best, Mree

  3. I haven't. I'll spend $100 on a purse but I won't spend near $100 on shoes. I'm too hard on them.

  4. I've been thinking about buying a pair of Tieks but have not taken the plunge. Now I'm less sure. I am forever on a search for good flats for traveling/walking. I bought a pair of Cole Haan flats last year before our trip and I'm disappointed with them, they have not held up at all. They were pretty comfortable but not that much so than other less expensive flats i have. My pair of Patagonia have worked pretty well.

  5. I recently bought dr. scholls flats and love them! I feel like an old lady buying that brand, but do not care since they are cushioned, simple and affordable! http://www.famousfootwear.com/en-US/Product/95558-1029313/Dr.+Scholls/Caravan+Sand/Womens+Friendly.aspx

  9. I never thought Tieks were cute at all. I also had no idea how much they were until I clicked on the link you provided and WOW, that price is nuts!

  11. What a bummer that they didn't work! You'd think that shoes that expensive would be more comfortable...

  12. I'm considering getting some, but after reading this, I'm not so sure. Of course, I can always try and return them if I don't like them. The price tag is steep though. :/

  13. I know this is an older post but I just recently bought a pair of Tieks in matte black and I hated them! I thought they were adorable and loved the blue sole but omg were they uncomfortable. I an a size 8 in every shoe, I don't have sizing issues or any foot issues so I expected these to fit without a problem. They were so tight my toes went numb. I'm going to try one size up but I'm still disappointed. For the price I expect them to be comfy and perfect.

  14. I too purchased a pair in matte black and the only good thing was the packaging. They did not fit well and the right one squeaked loudly with each step right out of the box. I have another pair of matte black ballet flats that are 11 years old and the Tieks were to replace that pair - no way! Total duds! Also if you post negative comments about Tieks on FB or Pinteredt your comments are removed. They have a hoard of "associates". Their BBB rating is an F. If you have to manipulate social media to sell your products...
