Birthday Celebrating. . . Strep Throat Style. . .

Well hello there.  I meant to blog yesterday but I was still recovering from my birthday weekend and strep throat.  Good news - turns out you can still have a wonderful birthday weekend despite strep throat thanks to great friends and family!

Here is a photo recap of what I did to celebrate.  Let's face it photos are more fun then me boring you with the details.

One.
Dinner at Bar Lola with my favorite things - sangria and good girlfriends!!!  Thanks to Emily M, Lynne, Noelle, Katelyn, Missy, Kate and Emily W for celebrating with me and treating me to dinner!

Blueberry ravioli tapas. . .

Amazing birthday dessert. . .

Two.
Annual "bunny photo" day with my nieces which is one of my favorite traditions (professional photos to come soon). . .

We also had lunch, ice cream and of course selfies!

Three.
More family time with my SIL and mom for her church women's group brunch. . .

Four.
Finally saw the movie Frozen with its biggest fan, Ella.  She knows every word and told me "this is my favorite part" about 5 times!

Neely watched with us too but every time I stopped patting her she got bored and would be bad and take one of my mom's Easter decorations in her mouth.  I had to keep taking them from her! That is the collection she brought me. Ha!
Five.
Family Dinner/Favorite Meal (I always request chicken casserole and a Carvel ice cream cake).

Six.
Presents! I got some money which is going towards my Italy vacation.  I also got a few necklaces. Top one is from my mom (she got it at a craft fair in FL), middle one is my "necklace club" necklace from Caroline G. and bottom one is a gift from Kate and Emily from Lou Lou.  I can't wait to wear them!

Thank you to everyone for the birthday cards, emails, FB messages, etc.  It really makes a girl feel loved!  Oh and I don't feel a day over 28!  Ha!

P.S.  I had been on antibiotics over 48 hours by the time I did all this stuff.  I was so sick for the first 2 days of strep but then SO much better once the meds kicked in.  Thankfully I was still able to have a wonderful birthday weekend!!!!

  2. Glad you were able to get out and enjoy your birthday. So sorry you have strep, hope you are feeling better now. My brother has to have an ice cream cake and eats half of it.

  3. I used to always get ice cream pie or cake for my birthdays, they're the best! I need to bring back that tradition. I'm glad you were able to enjoy your weekend.
