Thanksgiving 2013

I had a wonderful four day weekend.  It was busy and went by fast.  I'm sad that it is over already!  In addition to Thanksgiving we celebrated Peyton and my mom's birthdays, I saw Catching Fire (SO good), I visited with a friend and her baby and I picked up my MS t-shirt quilt.  More on all of that coming this week.  Right now I want to share some photos from Thanksgiving with you.

My aunt made "Thanksgiving Sangria" and it was so yummy!  Y'all know my love for sangria and this was a fun twist using white wine, cider and brandy.  We are now on the hunt for a "Christmas Sangria" recipe so if you have a good one let me know!

I should warn you that I only took a few photos that don't feature my cousin's adorable baby Callen.  He was the only little one there so he got lots of loving from all the adults.  But I did manage to get a picture of the pretty table and my place setting!

Laney made our name cards but then had strep throat so couldn't join us for dinner.  We missed her but appreciated the fact that her parents didn't want to expose us to strep!

Let the Callen show begin. . . he is just too cute!  He is now 4 months old and filled with smiles.  He didn't mind wearing the turkey hat at all.

Trying to get a good photo where Callen isn't moving and the other person is looking/smiling is quite difficult.  Everyone tends to look at and/or talk to the baby while holding him!

I started taking photos of people at the dinner table but then we started eating and I forgot to take more after!  Oh well.  We had a lovely dinner, played a few games of Left, Right, Center (Nancy and my dad won) and then had dessert (pie and Brigham's ice cream of course).  It was a great day!

Since I thought my outfit was pretty cute I though I would share some selfies I took of it.  I picked up this top/cardigan at a local boutique and wasn't sure what I would wear it with. . . but once I paired it with my black leggings and tall brown boots I knew it was a keeper.  Leggings on Thanksgiving are prefect and this outfit was so comfy while still looking cute!

I can't believe Thanksgiving has come and gone already.  Let the Christmas season begin.  Christmas cards ordered.  Shopping started.  Decorating. . . to happen soon right after this place I call home gets a good cleaning!

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  1. So glad you had a fun filled holiday weekend! I looove having all those days being around family, kinda fills me with the warm fuzzies! Callen is super cute, he just looks like such a cuddle bug. Also, I love that medallion necklace towards the bottom. You always have the best necklaces, and every time I see your blog I say to myself "must wear more necklaces." Today I'm wearing sweats, a thermal and Uggs. Go figure. Hope today wasn't too rough after the holiday <3
