Weekend Fun

For all of you that are reading this from the comfort of your couch while still wearing your pj's I am extremely jealous.  Unfortunately, my job does not give Columbus Day as a holiday/day off from work.  So I had to make the most of the two days I did have off and I think I did a good job of making it a good weekend!

Friday night started with. . . what else. . . sangria!  I took my friend Cara out for her birthday.  We went to Chili's (her choice I would have sprung for something fancier). But who can resist their chips and salsa? So good.  Oh and for the record it would have taken at least four of those sangrias to erase the memories of my terrible/busy day at work.  But since I was driving that didn't happen.  Thankfully good conversation helped put me in a better mood!

Saturday morning I was up early to help out with my nieces. Ella has Nutcracker rehearsal at the same time that Peyton has soccer.  Since my brother works on Saturdays my sister-in-law needs help so I went to their house to hang out with Ella and to take her to dance.

Someone (not mentioning an names Neely) thinks I only come to visit her.  She likes to see how much attention she can get.  I saw down on the couch with Ella and Neely pretty much climbed into my lap.  She is too funny!  So I basically have three nieces. Ha!

{Can you believe I didn't take any pictures of Peyton and Ella?!  Only Neely made the cut this weekend. Haha}!

After I left their house I made a quick pit stop at The Big Apple.  It is a great farm nearby that we use to frequent when I was a kid. They have THE BEST caramel apples and I've been craving one all fall.  It did not disappoint.  Oh and it wasn't as big as it looks in this pic (blame the weird angle I took the pic)!

I was going to buy a pumpkin but it was a little chilly and my hands were full with the stuff I had bought already so I decided to wait to get one.  And if I'm being totally honest I really wanted to eat my caramel apple and picking the perfect pumpkin would have delayed that.

Saturday night I went out in Boston with some girlfriends.  We went to dinner at Granary Tavern and it was so good! I had sangria (of course) and butternut squash ravioli.  SO good!  I will definitely be going back there for more before they go off the menu.  After dinner we went to a bar to watch the Red Sox game.  It was a fun night despite the Sox losing.

Sunday I had to work for a little while.  I really wanted to go somewhere to take a walk/hike and do some leaf peeping.  But I really didn't have time b/c I had a lot of  "chores" I really needed to do.  So I took a quick trip down to the Charles River.  The colors all around Boston are so gorgeous right now.  I love it!

Sunday night was spent watching the Red Sox.  So all in all a pretty good weekend.  How did you spend yours?

  2. I know I say this every week, but all of your Boston fall foliage pictures make me so happy. That was my favorite thing (besides the beer, of course) when we visited Boston. Gorgeous! LOL, Steve and I went to Chili's this weekend for lunch, too! I saw that drink on the menu and I recognized it from your IG picture Friday night! Glad you had a fun weekend <3
