Blate, Birthday and Baseball Beards

Sometimes your weekend is so busy and so much fun it leaves you too exhausted to write a blog post.  I had full intentions of blogging on Sunday night when I got home but I couldn't even keep my eyes open to watch Game 4 let alone type something that made sense. So you get my weekend recap a little later than usual.

Saturday afternoon started out with a blate (blogger date for you non-bloggers) with Rachel from Postcards From Rachel (if you aren't reading her blog you should be)!  Rachel and her husband moved to Boston last month and I've been looking forward to meeting her for a while.

We had such a nice time chatting over pumpkin beers.  After my liquid courage Rachel took some photos of me.  I can always use a new photo for my social media stuff and Rachel is looking to expand her portfolio so she can start a photography business.  Check out her brand new website here.

I warned Rachel that I'm a very awkward poser and on top of that it was freezing which made smiling difficult at times.  But I'm sure Rachel's talent will shine through.  Can't wait to see them!!

Saturday night included dinner at Grafton Street, music at Toad and Red Sox watching at Tavern in the Square.

The pumpkin ravioli was good but not as good as the butternut squash ravioli I had a couple of weekends ago at Granary Tavern.

Thankfully all the sangria drinking numbed the pain that was the ending of Game 3.

Of course there were a lot of people celebrating Halloween a little early.  I think this is the best costume I've seen in a very long time.  Full disclosure. . . I had no idea what/who he was. . . I was just impressed that the bulbs lit up.  How did he do that???

Sunday was family day!  We were all going to my parent's house for my grandmother's birthday dinner so everyone went early to watch the Patriots game.  Ella and I went to The Big Apple instead.  We looked for the perfect pumpkin unfortunately most were gone seeing that it was only "4 sleeps" until Halloween.  We managed to find a little one that would do for carving.  Oh and I had to have just one more caramel apple.  Yum!!!!

I went old school with my pumpkin carving.  Triangle eyes and nose are the best! Am I right!?  Ella was pretty impressed and showed everyone at the party the pumpkin "she" made.  Ha!  Sadly I left all the seeds at my parent's house so I guess I won't be cooking those.

My grandmother heads back to Florida this week so we celebrated her 87th birthday a couple of weeks early!  We had a wonderful day together and enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal and cake and apple crisp for dessert.

Before it got dark outside we made sure to get a family photo with my grandmother in it.  I think this is the first/only photo we have of all of us together!  Amazingly it came out great!  It was so nice to celebrate her birthday with her this year.

These 8:00 PM EST games are killing me.  I cannot stay awake.  I was so happy to wake up today to hear the good news of a WIN!  I don't know if it is the beards or what but I'll take it.  Hoping for another win tonight then we'll welcome the boys back to Boston for a World Series win at Fenway!  Let's hope!!!

That was my weekend.  I hope you had a good one too!  Go Sox!!
