Only In Texas

Last Thursday I traveled to Dallas, Texas for BlissDom.  While I had been to Texas before, many years ago I was still excited to experience all things "Texas" like cowboys! Lol!

All weekend long I saw things and thought "only in Texas."  So I started using that hashtag on my pictures and I thought I would share a few of them with you for Travel Tuesday.

I plan to write a full (detailed) recap on my experience at BlissDom but right now I'm still processing.  Oh and the fact that I'm exhausted isn't helping either.  This girl isn't use to late nights!

#OnlyInTexas will you find hotel carpets COVERED with cows!

#OnlyInTexas will you find cow skulls as decor in a bar.  I think Texans justify this by calling it a Longhorn!?

#OnlyInTexas will you find cookies bigger than your hand! (Thanks Georgina for being the hand model)!
I think #EverythingsBiggerInTexas works here too!

#OnlyInTexas will you find cowboy boots everywhere you look! I must admit I do love these boots and if they weren't in the $400 range I might have tried some on!

I could have taken pictures of so many other things that would have qualified for #OnlyInTexas but this should give you a small idea of what I experienced!

Even though I didn't get to explore Dallas (since I spent the whole time at the hotel/conference center for BlissDom) I still really liked it!  I hope I can see more next time I visit.

One thing I HAVE to mention is how NICE everyone is.  I mean really I felt like I was in the land of kindness.  The hotel staff was amazing.  The servers were attentive.  The people in general where just so darn friendly.  So #OnlyInTexas are the people super kind, friendly and helpful.  Love that!

So much more about BlissDom to come very soon. . .

Linking up with Helen for Travel Tuesday!

  3. Awesome! I've been to San Antonio and Houston and every part of Texas is so different. I remember in San Antonio experiencing some epic right-wing conservatism, so that was fun!

  8. So glad that Texas treated you right, if it hadn't I would have had a stern talking to her. I kept seeing everyone's tweets about Blissdom's and if I could have made it just to say Hi, I totally would have. (I live about 2 hours south of Dallas).

But yes, everything you #OnlyinTexas totally true. And girl, go on ahead and get you some boots. $400 is pricey, but you can find some realllly cute ones for half that. Besides, they go with EVERYTHING.

Yep, I'm a Texan and totally biased. :)

Glad you had a great time!

  12. This is so funny because I really rarely actually see people wearing boots in Dallas. I almost corrected you that they are Longhorns not cows. Ha!!
