The One About The Bad Manicures. . .

I love manicures.  I would get one every single week if I could afford to.  But I can't.  So when I get a manicure I want it to be a good one and to last a week.  Is that too much to ask?

I've gone to the same nail salon for many years.  They have always done a great job.  That is until this week.

I went on Tuesday night and the man that did my nails is new to me.  But since I've always had good luck with everyone there I wasn't too worried about it.  Oh I should have been worried.

I woke up on Wednesday morning and the majority of my nails were chipped.  From sleeping.  What?

I was so annoyed by it all day at work.  I hate the way chipped nails look.

So after work I went back.  I showed the owner and she said they would redo them.

Unfortunately the same guy was there so I had to have him redo them.  But there would be no way that I could get two bad manicures in a row right?  Wrong!

I woke up Thursday morning to this. . .

Now I know it is only one small chip but all I did was sleep.

All I can figure is that he used a crappy top coat.  It wasn't OPI and the other people there typically use all OPI products.  Two strikes.  He is out.  I will not be going back to him.  Ever.

So how is a girl suppose to make it through a whole day at work with a chipped nail you ask?

Yup that should do the trick.  Nobody will ever know (well except for all of my blog readers).

When I got home on Thursday night I knew I needed to fix it.  But I didn't have the color obviously.

So when life gives you lemons you make lemonade

and when the nail salon gives you a bad manicure you make glitter nails!

So now I have a twist on a french manicure.  With glitter.

It looks pretty.  And more importantly it solves the problem of the chipped nail.

The End.

  2. I have that color! Love it!!! That was a great idea! Sucks that they messed it up twice. I've been doing the gel manicure since it takes longer to chip and more grows out. Also, whenever I got a regular mani I would do my own top coat when I got home. Seche fast dry top coat is a gift from heaven. Seriously. Amazing!

  6. Great save! Glitter always makes things better. I ran out of my fave China Glaze top coat (Patent Leather) and used one by ORLY and my nails chipped in a day. Grr...It's just the worst! And it's so strange how everyone's nails are different. We just have to stick with what works, I guess!

  14. Aw that sucks that it happened twice!! When my nails start chipping I either do different color tip or do the glitter trick as well :p

  16. Twice!? That sucks! I always add some glitter to cover up mistakes or if I don't have time to remove and re-polish. Looks good!

  17. Your nails are so pretty- I am not big on manicures (I bite my nails) but I know if I got chips after not even a day I would be way bugged!
