Weekend Recap

This weekend was just so so (due to a number of factors).  I hate weekends like that!  Oh well.  Another one will be around in five days and hoping it will be way better.

Friday afternoon started off with some disappointing news from a friend. . . the results of this news is leading to me likely canceling my trip to Portland and Seattle at the end of the month.  More about that to come once I  have it all figured out.  Le sigh.

Fortunately I had fun plans on Friday night so no time for feeling sad. . . I met up with my Aunt Cathy for dinner at Solea which is a Spanish tapas restaurant.  It was SO good.  We had the most delicious Cava Sangria and some delicious tapas.  I love tapas restaurants!

After dinner we went to see the musical, My Fair Lady, put on by the Reagle Players.  We saw a show by them last year too.  Actually the lead of My Fair Lady, Sarah Pfisterer was also played Maria when we saw Sound of Music last year!  She is AMAZING!  I really loved this show.  I'm surprised that I had never seen it (or the movie) and didn't know the story.  I'll have to add the movie to my "to see" list especially since it was the movie my parents saw on their first date.

On Saturday, after walking 3 miles, I got ready and went to the Cape.  As you can see the weather wasn't the best.  My main purpose of going was to visit with my grandmother who is up from Florida.  Unfortunately she wasn't feeling well and ended up napping most of the time I was there.  It was ok though - gave me time to read book 3 of Fifty Shades. . . I sat out on the porch and looked at the pool and ocean (which you can hardly see in this pic since it is blending in w/ the sky).

That night I went out to dinner with my parents.  We just sat at the bar at a local chain restaurant.  It should have been an uneventful evening but always have to have a little drama right!?  This guy (who was not young) tried to pick a fight w/ my dad over a bar stool.  He was yelling and making a scene and the bartender had to tell him to knock it off.  His wife was pretty embarrassed too and tried to get him to leave.  Ugh!

Check out that dessert.  It was a cannoli dessert and so so good.  It is consider a "mini" dessert but it was just the right size.  I'm craving it and will be getting it again before it goes off the menu!  Yum!

Sunday was a quiet morning and then I worked in the afternoon (for one of my private practice clients).

I had to treat myself on the way home - since I was starving and in a grumpy mood. . .

Ahhhh pinkberry.  Thanks for tasting oh so good!

And if I'm being completely honest. . . didn't even stay awake for the closing ceremonies of the Olympics.  I was tired and grumpy and figured a good night of sleep would be a better option!

How was your weekend??

I'm linking up with:

 Happy Monday everyone!

  1. Ah, totally know what you mean about so-so weekends. Here's to making the next one better!

  2. Sounds like a pretty great weekend to me! You did so many things! I hope your grandma is feeling better though.

    Thanks for linking up :)

  3. I'm sorry you might have to cancel your trip. I hope everything is okay with your friend!

So, what are your thoughts on 50 Shades of Grey- I'm hearing mix reviews.

I've always wanted to see a live performance of My Fair Lady! I'm jealous!!

    Hope your week goes well!

  4. Love pinkberry! That looks so good.

  5. We had a little staycation here in Denmark which was great, and the weather was finally nice after an entire summer of rain! But your weekend sounds awesome to me (aside from getting sad news about a friend). You got to spend time with family, eat delicious food (I want that cannoli!), complete the third 50 shades book (what did you think?), and got to be active outside. Bad weather or not, it sounds peaceful, quiet and productive to me :)

  6. That froyo is making me have a BIG craving : )

  7. Oh no-- I hope you don't have to cancel your trip!! :( And those pics are making me super hungry... Lol

  8. I love tapas restaurants too! And Pinkberry. Unfortunately we only have Red Mango in Seattle. It's pretty close though.

Stopping by (a little late) from the linkup! :)
