Weekend On The Cape

I drove to the Cape Friday as soon as I got out of work and made it to my parent's just in time for dinner!  Peyton was staying with them for the weekend (Ella was with them alone last weekend) so it was fun to see her too.

After dinner I asked Peyton if we were going to go out for ice cream and she gave me a very confident "YES!"  I asked her where we should go and she say "SUNDAE SCHOOL!"  Smart girl!  We sat outside and enjoyed are ice cream with my parents.

While walking back to the car I asked Peyton to "pose" in front of this gorgeous hydrangea bush.  Well she is a goof ball and this is what I got!  Ha!! {She's really shy.}

Saturday morning, despite the overcast sky, we went to the beach.  The seaweed was in so the water was really gross.  Peyton had fun playing in the sand and taking walks with Grammy and Grampy.

After the beach we went to the pool so Peyton could show my her new swimming skills without a float.  She was also proud to show how she jumps in.  That girl loves the water!  I then went inside to shower and get ready to hang out with Jaime.

I met up with Jaime that afternoon at her house and we had the chance to chat and catch up with was really nice.  We went out for a pre-dinner drink at the outside beach bar at The Ocean House (which just so happens to be located about two minutes from my parent's).  We had delicious drinks and enjoyed people watching.

We then made our way to Hyannis and walked around on Main St.  We decided on Beech Tree Cantina for dinner which is a new Mexican restaurant.  It gets it's name due to the HUGE tree on the back patio.  My picture can't do this tree justice but just trust me when I tell you it is beautiful!  We enjoyed a drink at the "tree bar" then went to another area for dinner which ended up just being sangria and chips and guacamole.  They made tableside guac and it was delicious!

Sunday we went to Mayflower Beach with a friend of Jaime's who has free parking - score!  The beach was beautiful as usual and we enjoyed sitting out for a couple of hours.  Hopefully I didn't scare anyone with my paleness.

The homes on the street leading into the beach are beautiful and very typical Cape.  I would live in the house with the different colored chairs in a heartbeat.  So pretty.  The other house is a close runner up.  Keep dreaming right!

To end of our day we had ice cream sundaes for lunch.  I was (easily) convinced to get hot fudge when the girls told me it was "the best on the Cape."  I'll have to agree that it was yummy.

A great weekend that came to an end all too soon. . . fortunately I have Thur and Fri off this week and will be heading back to the Cape on Wed night.  Can't wait!!!

I'm guest posting at Many Waters today.  My post is about baby gift ideas. . . as we wait for Poe to have her baby girl!  Check it out!
