Liebster Award and The Versatile Blogger Award

Weeks ago two different bloggers recognized me with blogging awards!  So sweet of them and so bad of me that it has taken me this long to write this post!

The Liebster Blog Award is given to upcoming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. The Meaning; Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome.

Haley from I Can Only Imagine nominated me for the Liebster Award in this post.  I found Haley's blog while "promoting" my MS Fundraiser, Sip, Shop and See, with Sweet Tea Paperie and I've read it ever since.  She is very sweet and you should definitely check out her blog!

Here are the rules for receiving this award:
 1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
2. Answer the questions the tagger has set for you plus create 11 questions for the people you've tagged to answer.
3. Choose 11 people and link them in your post.
4. Go to their page and tell them.
5. Remember, no tag backs!

11 Things About Me:
1.  When I graduated from college I did a year of service with Americorps VISTA (aka domestic peace corps).  I worked for Habitat for Humanity in Long Beach, CA.  It was an amazing opportunity.  I loved working for Habitat and I loved my year/adventure in CA.
2.  Since being diagnosed with MS (almost 4 years ago) I've done things I never would have imagined myself doing including: fundraising (and a lot of it), organizing fundraisers/silent auction events, modeled in a MS fashion show, organized a team and participated in the Boston MS Walk for 4 years and soon I will walk 50 miles in 3 days at the MS Challenge Walk.
3.  I enjoy traveling to other states to see the Red Sox play.  This past April I went to Chicago to see them play the White Sox.  In September I will go to Seattle to see them play.  I've been to several other ball parks and hope to go to many more!
4.  I've been a bridesmaid in 6 weddings and done readings at 2 others!
5.  I don't eat seafood.  Never have never will.  I don't eat meat either except chicken sometimes.  Oh and bacon.  Totally random I know.  I just don't like seafood and meat and even when I was little didn't eat it.
6.  I went to college at Elon in NC and got my bachelors degree in Sports Medicine.  I went to grad school at Boston College and got my Masters in Social Work.
7.  I've never seen many movies that are considered "classics" or that pretty much everybody else in the world has seen. . . for example Gone With the Wind, The Godfather, etc.  (Of course now I can't think of any but there are many!)
8.  I was allergic to milk from the time I was a baby all the way until high school/college years.  I outgrew it at some point.  I use to vomit a lot as a kid.  Good times!  So glad I'm not allergic anymore b/c I LOVE ice cream and cheese!  Can't imagine not being able to eat those things.
9.  I'm a "people person" and a "loner."  I'm a social worker and love working with and helping others.  I enjoy being around others.  I love spending time with family and friends.  But at the same time I really love my alone time.  I love living alone and having down time to myself.
10.  I had braces for 3 years - from 8th grade until 11th grade.  It was forever!  And after all that my bottom teeth are crocked now from my stupid wisdom teeth (which have since been removed - worst experience ever but that is a whole other story).
11.  I was an adoption social worker for 5 years and LOVED it.  I really miss working in adoption and loving hearing happy/positive adoption stories.

(Wow it was way harder than I thought it would be to come up with 11 facts about me that most of my readers wouldn't already know)!

Haley's Questions For Me:

1. How many cellphones have you had in your lifetime?
Oh no do I really have to answer this honestly!?  I'm on my 4th iPhone.  Lost the first one in a cab, lost the second one in Target, dropped the third one in a toilet. . . prior to the iPhone I had a few regular cell phones and never lost any of them.  Go figure!
2. How many states have you visited? Ever been out of the country?
I drove cross country twice - northern route on way to CA and southern route on way back to MA - so I've been to a lot of the states.  I've also been to a lot of other countries - I studied abroad in college which gave me the opportunity to travel all over Europe.  I've been to England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Norway, Sweden, Romania, Hungry, Brazil, Canada and Mexico. . . many more to come {hopefully}!
3. Around what age did you switch from taking baths to taking showers?
I have NO clue!  Haha!  But I'll tell you that now I never take baths.  I really don't like them!
4. Japanese, Mexican, or Italian food?
All of it! But not at the same time!  I love the Japanese restaurants that could the food in front of you!
5. French toast, or pancakes?
Pancakes - with chocolate chips please!
6. Your all-time favorite restaurant?
Hmmmm. . . this is really hard.  I think it depends on the type of food I'm in the mood for. . .
7. How many times a day do you brush your teeth?
Twice sometimes three times.
8. Do you play an instrument?
Nope!
9. What were the colors and mascot of your high school?
Blue and white. Panther.
