Color Blocking

So I don't typically post OOTD ("outfit of the day" for you non bloggers) or talk much about fashion BUT if you knew me well you would know that I LOVE Clothes, shop a lot too much and have way too many clothes.

I keep up with the latest trends and like to be fashionable but on a normal budget.  My favorite store in the Limited and The Loft is a close second.  I've also been know to find quite a few cute things at Target!

So today I thought I would share with you a few outfits I've worn recently using the trend color blocking (which I LOVE)!!!

{sorry for the grainy iPhone pics}

I picked up these capris at Target one day as I was shopping for work out clothes.  They were across the way and the amazing color caught my eye!  Now I had no clue what I would wear them with but it didn't matter.  I had to have them.  When it came time to wearing them I grabbed this raspberry tank out of my closet and thought the colors looked great together.  I also had on a light weight nude cardigan and a colorful bead necklace that tied the top and capris together (I told you I'm no OOTD gal and therefor don't have pics of the complete outfit - but you get the idea).  I must say I got quite a few compliments at work the day I wore this.

The iPhone pics don't do these colors justice but I paired an aqua tank top with a hot pink short sleeve cardigan.  I really liked these colors together.  It worked well b/c normally I would not choose to wear the tank alone to work (not really professional enough for the hospital) so it was nice to pair it with something to give me another work outfit.

Another day that I chose to wear a sleeveless shirt and needed something to make it a bit more professional.  I've always like purple and green together so I grabbed this teal green cardigan out of my closet (well if I'm being completely honest I grabbed it off the floor from the pile of summer clothes that never made it to my closet).

What do you think?  Have you done any color blocking this summer?

  1. Yes, yes and yes! I love all the colors. I am a huge fan of the color-blocking, I just start getting caught up in my head that I look silly and end up taking off whatever I put on that morning. I did manage to wear a pair of red shorts this weekend - slowly but surely getting brave!

  2. They look great!! I've always been one to wear neutral colors, but I've actually picked up several bright colors this year. It's so much fun!
