I had a wonderful 4th of July this year. It was the first year in a while that I wasn't on the Cape but with the holiday falling mid-week and having to work the day before and day after it was easier to stay local. Since I wasn't on the Cape it gave me the chance to celebrate the holiday with Peyton and Ella. Get ready for a lot of pictures!!!
So notice anything wrong in the top picture?? I got all the way to Franklin before noticing that I had on two different flip flops! Seriously? How could I do that! A quick trip to my parent's house to raid my mom's closet and found these blue sandals that worked just fine!
The day started out with rain but it quickly moved out and was hot and sunny! We made our way to the town carnival and the girls had a lot of fun going on all the rides. It was really hot but they didn't seem to mind.
Peyton had her eye on this from the second we got on the common. She just HAD to do it! No fear! Once Ella saw Peyton do it she decided to do it too.
We took a break and had some slush. . .
and I had my favorite "carnival food" fried dough. Yum!
There was face painting. . . Peyton with a watermelon and Ella with a butterfly. They looked pretty cute!
While waiting in line for face painting I was able to convince them to pose for a picture. Ella is being goofy but I still think it is adorable!
After all the fun on the common we went back to the house to relax and cookout. The resting didn't last long b/c my the girls got a big surprise. . . brand new big girl bikes! Their tricycles were too small so it was time. They were so excited and did such a great job riding them.
After a delicious dinner it was time for my favorite part. . .s'mores! I LOVE s'mores. I think whoever invented them is a genius! So delicious. I may have had more than one. Like
two I mean three.
Even Neely enjoyed licking some marshmallow! Peyton borrowed my camera and took several of the above pictures. She loves playing photographer!
Crazy Nelly on the kid's picnic table! Not sure what she was doing.
As you can see it was a great 4th of July! We had a wonderful day!
