What I've Been Up To. . .

I would usually do a "Weekend Recap" post but since last week my blog was devoted to Ireland Recaps I didn't blog about anything I did so I'm going to include what I did last week and what I did this weekend in my post today!

MATCH 2012
Wednesday, June 6th
*These pictures were taken by the photographer at the event.  I don't know him name to give him credit but he did a great job!  Thanks to Facebook I was able to borrow them off the AFC page!

Kendall and I attended AFC Mentoring's annual event, MATCH 2012.  This was the first year I could attend.  They started having it two years ago and both years it was the week I was on vacation.  This year they made it a bit later so I was back from Ireland in time to attend!

It was a great event with a lot of different foods to sample and plenty of drinks too!  There were tons of silent auction prizes and raffle prizes.  There was even an African Safari starting at $2,000.  I would have loved to bid on that (if only I had an extra 2k laying around).

Coincidentally the night of the event was also my 5 year anniversary of mentoring Taylor!  They had a slide in the slide show to honor us.  I didn't win mentor of the year (which I knew before the event) but I'm still honored to have been in the "finals."

AFC is such an amazing organization.  I feel so fortunate to be involved.  This event totally inspired me and energized me to continue working hard for Taylor.

Red Sox game
Thursday, June 7th
Emily and I finally sat in our "good seats."  Let me tell you they are REALLY good seats.  We were so excited when we saw how close to the field they were.  The pictures taken are w/o zoom so you can see just how close we are.  It was a beautiful night and the Sox won!  We have one more game in the "good seats" but not until the end of the season.

I had a pretty lazy weekend.  I'm still fighting the jet lag and feeling pretty exhausted so lazy was good.  On Sunday I did muster up enough energy to visit these two cuties.  It had been way too long since I last saw Riley and Owen so I was happy to finally be able to visit.  And added bonus was seeing Kendall twice in one week which hardly ever happens anymore!

We enjoyed playing outside on their new swingset.  It was so beautiful outside.  I brought Riley a painting book so we did some of that too.  All and all a fun morning.

I went home w/ plans to do several things and ended up taking a long nap!  So much for getting things done.  Hoping my sleep schedule will be back to normal this week.
