Weekend Recap

And then the rain stopped. . . just in time for the weekend.  Woo hoo!  After a week of rain we were all ready for some better weather and this weekend was gorgeous!

Friday night I went to the Red Sox game with a bunch of friends.  The best part was that my very good friend from college was in town for the game too!  Since she moved to Lake Tahoe we haven't seen each other and it was so nice to visit with  her at a bar before the game.  We got to catch up on each others lives over a drink!  Hopefully it won't be as long before I see her again. . . maybe I'll have to plan a little vacation to Lake Tahoe!?

We had a nice time at the game.  It was actually good weather and I didn't need to put my jacket on until almost the end.  That was very nice.  Of course sitting in the bleachers we had to deal with our fair share of beach balls.  Ugh I hate those things!  We got to see a win too!

Emily and I will be heading to a game in June and we will be sitting in our "good seats."  We upgraded our seats this year and I'm exciting to check them out.  Bye bye bleachers (for a game or two anyways).

Saturday I volunteers at the "Journey of Hope" MS Walk along with my fellow Fashion Plates Committee member, Cammie.  We got all dressed up and passed out Save the Dates for the Fashion Plates fashion show on November 2, 2012.  We also had raffle tickets and someone will win 2 free tickets to this event.  We definitely stood out since everyone else there was dressed to walk 7 miles!  Ha!  We had a fun (and early) morning.

Sunday morning (up and out bright and early both days of the weekend) I volunteered with MAAV for the annual Melrose Run For Women which is on Mother's Day and proceeds benefit MAAV, more specifically money will go to support the mentoring program this year.

Close to 900 women ran in the race ranging in age from young children all the way up to a few women in their 70s!  I on the other hand did not run.  I was very busy at the MAAV table selling raffle tickets for the basket I made/donated.

It was a great event and I can't wait to hear how much money the Melrose Running Club will be donating to MAAV!

We celebrated Mother's Day at my brother Allan's house.  It felt like summer outside and we all enjoyed food from the grill.  Peyton and Ella waited all afternoon for watermelon.  They could eat it all day long.

Ella gave me a "Godmother gift" and I'm using it right now.  It is a cute insulated cup with a straw.  I love it!

We had a lovely afternoon.  Hopefully Jenn and my mom enjoyed their day!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway for CUPCAKES!!!!

Hope y'all had a great weekend!
9 more days until I leave for Ireland!

P.S.  Why is it when you cut yourself shaving two things happen. . . a) it bleeds like you are hemorrhaging and b) it hurts like you've just been stabbed?  Ouch!  The razor got my ankle good this time.  And this is why I go weeks at a time w/o shaving.  Haha!

  2. I hate the beach balls! So annoying! The bleachers do have their own charm though. We're going to the game tomorrow and hoping it won't rain.
