Do Re Mi. . .

On Friday night my aunt and I went to Margaritas for dinner before heading to see The Sound of Music.  It was a beautiful night and it was great to sit outside on the Charles River.  Margaritas has the BEST margarita called the Russlerita.  It is frozen and tasted like a strawberry/raspberry sorbet.  Yum!

The Sound of Music was being performed by The Reagle Players.  I've seen a couple of their shows before and they have always been great performances.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Sound of Music and I've never seen it on stage (but I have watched the movie about 1 million times).  Of course the musical is different from the movie but it still has all the wonderful songs.  The children were adorable - such stage presence and great voices.  Maria was AMAZING!  What a voice she had.  She reminded me of Amy Adams which was kind of funny to me.  It was a really fun night and I'm so glad we got to see it before it ended.

I thought I would share some photos from The Sound of Music Tour I went on when I was in Salzburg in 2004 while in grad school (I took a class in Romania and then had some R&R time at the end).

I'm a cow lover and love Cows on Parade!  I thought this was so fun.

One of the gardens where the kids sing and play.  The flowers were so pretty.

This is the Von Trapp family home that is used in the movie.  The lake is the one that they did the boating on and they also did some tree climbing here.  The gazebo has been moved to another part but is still on display for tourists!
The beautiful church where Maria and the Captain got married in the movie.  It was beautiful inside and also in the cutest little village.

If you are ever in Salzburg I highly recommend doing The Sound of Music Tour.  It was so fun and the bus takes you all over Salzburg and out to the mountains where many of those scenes were filmed.  So beautiful!  Plus they play all the music while on the bus!
