but why do they always go by so fast? I try to balance my weekends with time to do fun things and time to relax. I just don't think weekends are long enough to be able to do both the way I want! Weekends should be longer!
Friday I attended a conference on Elder Law. It was nice to be out of the hospital and it was a great conference. Three different attorneys (all experts in Elder Law) spoke/facilitated. The information was very helpful to me since I would with a lot of elders in my role as a medical social worker at the hospital. Coming from my last job as an adoption social worker I obviously never needed to know Elder Law. The covered many things such as Medicare, Medicaid, Nursing Home Laws, Guardianship, Health Care Proxy, Durable Power of Attorney, etc. I learned a lot. Not only will all the info be helpful in my job but also in my real life. I plan to talk to my parents to tell them about things I learned!
After the conference I went to babysit two of my favorite little people. They are 6 year old twins and I've watched them since they were infants. We went out for dinner/ice cream at a cute restaurant in the area and had fun playing tic tac toe and doing "fortune tellers" (remember those things you made w/ paper and wrote numbers, colors and then finally a fortune in?) Once home one of the adorable children had the temper tantrum of all temper tantrums! Wow! Just b/c I asked them to brush teeth and go to the bathroom. Obviously extreme tiredness have something to do w/ said temper tantrum. One kid went to bed and other kid proceeded to have tantrum for next 1.5 hours. Then exhaustion set in and sleep. Phew! I don't know how you parents do it. It is a good thing I love these two and that their parents are so supportive!!
So let me tell you the cute story behind the above pics. Peyton wanted to play "train" and needed the little chair Ella had but Ella wouldn't give it to her. Then a few minutes later Ella decided she wanted to play train and Peyton said no. Ella turned around and pouted (classic Ella move) and Peyton went over to her and gave her a hug and kiss (middle pic) and said, "Ella you can play w/ me." To which Ella replied, "Peyton you are my best friend." Aren't they the cutest? They are such buddies and good playmates and it is fun to watch. They proceeded to play train with all the little chairs and baby carriages lined up. Peyton said they were taking the train to Boston to go to my house. I taught them to say "All Aboard" which was pretty funny!
Sunday was another rainy day in the 60s. Is it June? Someone needs to fill in the weather gods. I decided to have a relaxing morning which of course included watching "Say Yes To The Dress" and reading blogs. How is it possible that I did that for almost 3 hours and it felt like 5 minutes? It was a nice morning but I had some errands that I wanted to do so I headed out. First stop - Target. Always a big mistake when I'm trying to be conservative about my spending - $50 bucks later I had everything I "needed."
Now I'm home watching tv and blogging. Feeling sad that another weekend has come to an end way too fast! Already looking forward to next weekend that is filling up quickly with fun plans!
How was your weekend? Do anything interesting?
