Neely The Puppy

My brother and his family went away this weekend and they asked me to watch Neely.  I could only do one night of the weekend so I got there late Saturday night and watched her all day today.  Let me just go on the record by stating it is MUCH easier to babysit my nieces, Peyton (3) and Ella (2) than it is to dogsit Neely (5 months).  To say Neely was excited to see me would be an understatement.  I think Neely really likes me which she shows me by jumping all over me, biting me, kissing me, eating my hair, climbing on me, etc.

So we played fetch a lot.  Outside at 9:00 AM (which was really 8:00 since we moved the clocks ahead last night) and then inside right after we came in b/c she wasn't tired yet!

Do you think she looks sweet and innocent here?  Nope!  She was just waiting to steal my clean clothes as I was folding them and putting them in my laundry basket! :)

After wrestling for a bit I finally get her interested in a bone.  Five mintues of peace for me on the couch!  Then off to shower and get ready to head out!

We stopped at Dunkin Donuts so I could get a bagel and hot tea.  Neely loves going for rides in the car.  Then we stopped at Old Navy.  Neely waiting in the car while I ran in for less than 10 minutes.  When I came back she was sleeping in the backseat but. . . she wasn't sleeping the whole time!  Neely made sure to chew and rip up every tissue, napkin and paper that was in my car (I should have taken a pic but didn't think of it).  I guess it is my own fault for leaving trash in my car.

Next stop was the dog park.  Neely LOVED it!  She was a little shy at first but it didn't take her long to play with all the other dogs.

Neely made a lot of new friends.  She was nice to all of the other doggies.

She even joined the "Welcoming Committee" and say hello to each dog as they arrived to play!

My favorite dog at the park (besides Neely of course) was this Bernese Mountain Dog, Lucy.  She was so sweet and it cracked me up that she would run around and play and then lay down for a rest.  Notice crazy Neely in the background!

I'm happy to report that after 2 hours of running and playing Neely collapsed on the couch as soon as we walked in the door.  She was exhausted!  And I do think that I am now her favorite auntie!

P.S.  I joked that maybe I would meet a hot single guy at the dog park. . . this very nice and good looking man loved Neely and kept talking to me. . . asking me a lot of questions (where do you live, what do you do for work, etc.)  He was very nice and we had fun chatting and playing with the dogs.  After about an hour (and by now I'm freezing and so ready to leave but hanging out to talk more to the guy) he says to another couple "yeah my girlfriend says. . ." What?  Your girlfriend?  Oh well.  At least Neely had fun at the dog park.
