Sleepover with Peyton

Peyton came for a sleepover on Friday night.  This is the 2nd time she has stayed at my house.  My dad was coming into the city on Friday night for a hockey game so he was able to bring Peyton to me.  We went to Pizzeria Regina's for dinner.  They have the best pizza but Peyton wanted pasta (of course).  She was SO good at dinner.  She was being shy w/ the person taking the picture which is why she wouldn't smile!  After dinner Peyton and I ran to the grocery store to buy supplies to make cookies.  To say Peyton was excited about this would be an understatement!

Peyton really enjoyed the sprinkles.  Hope the people who have to eat the cookies will too.  Haha!  We made these cookies for Ella's birthday party and Peyton was very proud of them.

After cookie making Peyton did her FAVORITE thing - played games on my iPhone!  Peyton loves to play on my phone and she is so good at using the phone.  Her friends watched as she played.   :)

There were some uninvited guests at the sleepover.  Mr. Thunder and Mrs. Lightning make an unwelcomed appearance right before bed.  It wasn't that bad of a storm in terms of loud thunder but it only took one "loud noise" to freak Peyton out.  She kept asking "Jodi what is that noise?" with every little thing she heard.  So I turned on the tv to a show she likes and turned it up pretty loud.  We got in bed and watched tv and I let her play one more iPhone game.  Distraction is a wonderful thing.  She forgot all about the thunder.  It still took her until 9:45 PM to fall asleep!  The next morning she woke up at 6:00 AM which surprised me since it was still dark outside and really dark in my room.  I heard "Jodi? Jodi? Are you awake?" in the most quiet whisper she could speak.  I told her it was still night time and she needed to go back to sleep - hey it was worth a try right!?  She was pretty quiet until 7:00 AM minus the occasional "Jodi?" with some silly question following (always in a whisper).

So I turned on the tv and got her breakfast in bed - powdered donuts (which she picked out at the grocery store the night before) and yogurt (which she also picked out but then wouldn't eat).  After breakfast we had to get ready for a special surprise. . .

We went to Skyzone which is an indoor trampoline (or as Peyton likes to call it jumpoline) park.  Peyton was so excited and couldn't stop bouncing while we waiting in line.  She has happy memories of the last time we went to trampolines (on the Cape this summer).  She spent an hour running and jumping and loving it!  She had a blast!  They have a toddler area which was just the right size for her and we didn't have to worry about getting run over by the big kids!

Peyton really likes to take pictures with my camera and does a pretty good job.  She took about 40 pics of me then I had to send her back to jumping!

We had a lot of fun at the sleepover although I wonder why we call it a "sleep"over since there isn't very much sleep happening!  Hehe!  The next time we do a sleepover will be this spring when the weather is much warmer in Boston and we can do something fun outside!  Looking forward to it.

Love you Peyton!  Hope you had fun at the sleepover.

  1. She bakes cookies like I do! More tasting than baking!

  2. Looks like such a fun time! And y'all can come bake cookies at my place anytime. :)

  3. This is so cute! What an awesome aunt! Please tell me why I went in to work on my day off, only to distract myself with your blog! haha... If you think about it- Peyton still slept for 8 hours- which would be a great sleep over for me! Rest up!

  4. My little girl is 8 months old and I'm wondering how she's going to handle Mr & Mrs Thunder and Lightning this summer. She was too little last year to be scared. Sounds like Peyton did pretty well!

    Visiting from FTLOB :)
